trying to run ethernet cable through roofspace/walls

So once again (this time in a new house) i am trying to run some Cat6 cable through my house - and having a bit of trouble. This time - the holes are already drilled (previous owner had speaker wire connected up).Problem is - i can see the hole in the wall fine, i can see the hole in the roofspace fine, but trying to run a cable through is defeating me.The existing cable was pulled out - and when i try to push the cat6 through it stops because there is a horizontal wooden post (fire break section?) - im sure there is a hole there somewhere but i cant see it thought the small entry hole...Just wondered how others have done this? do you use a telescopic camera/light or something? or a piece of wire? how do you find where the hole is? and im worried if i find this hole there might be another fire break in the wall further down.how do professional installers do this? with a telescopic drill or something?really would love to do this myself and not have to pay someone to do it - but its looking like im gonna have to get the experts in soon - so figured id ask the smart chaps here who might have done this before for advice.any advice appreciated - alternatively if anyone knows a cable installer in Kapiti (peka peka) who isnt too expensive - id appreciate it.Thanks!Sam
