Help with wireless connection from cable router

Hi guysMy in-laws have a Motorola SB5101 cable modem with Vodafone and since we're borrowing their house while ours gets EQC repairs, I was hoping to set up wifi.The wifi router I have is a Linksys X2000 (got it for $20 off trademe, so perhaps I was asking for trouble).I've used the installation disk and followed the instructions with no luck I can connect to the router, but no internet.I've done a lot of searching and reading and have tried various methods of changing IP addresses, MAC addresses etc.Does anyone have any thoughts?And is this info of any help?:
