Persistent internet drop outs - suggestions for troubleshooting?

We seem to have an internet goblin in our house, causing the internet to drop out randomly and seemingly more frequently. It tends to happen on my wife's desktop when we're watching streaming video from overseas sites, but it can also happen on youtube. We've also noticed that the problem can sometimes affect my wife's iPhone but not mine (we have identical iPhone 6's). We have a UFB 30/10 connection through Snap, using the supplied FritzBox 7390 router, updated to the latest firmware. There are several connected devices in the house, mostly on wifi. The two desktop PCs are using PCI wifi cards - my wife's is an Intel Centrino N2200, and mine is a TP-Link card (can't recall the model number). We also have an iPad and Surface Pro 3. We also use Unblock-US, with the DNS settings loaded into the router so all devices use the same DNS settings.I haven't done any rigorous testing of specific sites or times of day, largely because I don't have the time to devote to it. It's also pretty random and intermittent. All of which makes it tricky to diagnose whether the problem is: - the internet connection - the wifi signal - the specific sites being usedI've got a few ideas for troubleshooting the problem - swapping out the PCI cards between the two PCs to see if that changes things, moving the DNS settings from the router to the settings in Windows - but I'd like to know if the symptoms suggests trying anything else first. Especially as either of the two suggestions above would be a bit of an effort, especially when it tends to happen at dinnertime. It's such a nebulous problem, with so many potential fault points, it could be very tricky to unpick what's causing the problem. I'd rather not rush in headlong and waste a lot of time.
