I want to extend the range of my WiFi to allow access from our granny annex located about 40m from the standard Vodafone router but in a bit of a depression in the land. I can see the network from the annex lounge and managed to connect a Linksys RE1000 unit I already had but, the signal is flaky and I guess the RE1000 can at best, only extend what it is receiving. I tried the extender from the closest point in the main dwelling to the annex but as I understand the repeated signal is degraded anyway, I don't seem to get any better strength in the annex.So; what I'm after is advice on setting up a LOW COST wireless link to support a single laptop running in the annex. All the user really wants is email and coming from dial-up, I don't see speed as a major issue.Thanks in advance!
