As part of a full house strip/reno I am cabling CAT6 throughout , installed in a home networking cabinet and will connect to fiber (still deciding on supplier) over the next 3 to 4 weeks.Just purchased a HP 1410-16G 16 port unmanaged Gigabit switch....and then started thinking about POE requirements....a bit late. Reviewing the specs of the The HP switch it is 802.3az (IEEE Efficient power)....I am assuming 802.3az does not replace the need for 802.3af or 802.3at POE capability for a VOIP phone or security cameras?Prob not an issue as can by POE injectors or a 6 - 8 port POE switch for the powered devices at a latter date....AFTER I determine the correct power requirements for the consuming devices. Also investigating a decent home NAS....but that is a different post after I review the appropriate forums.Advice and guidance welcome.Ta
