Hi all, So i went to a company to fix a network fault they where having, they could no longer contact there computers using the computers host name after a little investigation i found that the router had changed the DNS names of the computers to <DeviceName>_Ethernet or <DeviceName>_Wireless... This caused an intermittent issue using the computers host name to access the SMB shares, when i got there i could not ping using host names, after changing all the DNS records in the router the network issues where resolved.Did the routers firmware set the DNS names to reflect interfaces that the devices are connected or did someone manually set this? has anyone else ever had this issue?
