I am hoping one of the network gurus around here is able to help me to get a wireless access point I have installed to be more stable...My main modem/router is the Orcon Netcomm standard router. This is on the 3rd floor of my house. I have put a second wifi router on the bottom floor and this is connected via ethernet. This second router is a TP-Link WRT1043ND which I am trying to use as the wireless access point. I have installed the latest version of DD-WRT on it for this router.I have given the WRT1043ND the same SSID as the Orcon router, an IP one greater than the Orcon router (192.168.100.2), and set the wireless channels of the two routers to be at least 6 apart from each other. When I first turn on the WRT1043ND, after it initialises, everything seems to operate ok. Over time thought I seem to lose access to things and I feel my wifi speed decreases regardless of which wifi router my devices are connected to. When things deteriorate, I cannot do things such as access my Plex server via my iPhone or iPad (obviously via wifi), nor can I access my NAS wirelessly on the same mobile devices. Any device connected to my network via ethernet does not seem to be affected. From the description of my issues above can anyone work out what the issue might be? If there is further info I should provide, please let me know. Cheers.
