Trying to use a public accees WiFi hotspot provided by a corporate for customer and staff use to get email and general Internet access.Normal web browsing works fine on the connection but I encounter this strange issue with e-mail.Using a standard email client (I tried Typeapp and Mail) on Android and also Typeapp on IOS setting up the client as per the server specs viz 993 for IMAP and 465 for SMTP the email headers download fine but as soon as I access an email to see the body of the email I get a connection error. Also cannot send mail via SMTP. The same configuration works fine when the internet connection is my home WiFi or a tethered iPhone.Interestingly if I try Outlook for Android and let Outlook work out the email settings directly from the domain name it works fine. I would continue to use Outlook but that app is broken in terms of displaying messages from GZ and apparently other sites in terms of embeded URL's. URL's look selectable (like links to GZ forums) but they are not. This is apparently a bug in Outlook.I've tried explaining the problem with Tech Support but all they say it, it works for us (i.e. they can access the web or FB from their mobile devices).Anybody have any insights into what could be happening here? I would not hae thought that once you can see the email headers there would be a different protocol for downloading content unless there is some strange content filtering going on.
