Hey guys. Sorry I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to routers, wifi etc but will try my best.My partner and I have moved into a small sleep out flat at the back of a friends place. The main house is on Trustpower fibre. We have been having a nightmare of a time with the wifi in the flat. It started out fine, but after a couple months it just got worse and worse. Signal got weakend, we can't run multiple devices at a time any more, Netflix buffers a lot, I can't game online anymore at all. The flat is only +-10m from the the room where the router is in, with a path and caravan between. Personally I think it's because of the rubbish netcom router in the main house that Trustpower sent them. I've talked to the house owners about that but they say they aren't experiencing the same issues as us. I was hoping to get them to fight Trustpower for a better router, but I don't think they want to. The house owner suggested getting a wifi extender, but I'm not keen on that, as I hear they reduce speed, and I still think it's the netcom to blame. The other option the owner suggested is running a cable across to the flat, which I think could solve our issues. I have with me a previous Audio Codes mp264 router from WxC. So I'm wondering, if we ran a cable from the router in the main house to the flat and I connected a router to that, would that work? And in particular would the MP264 from WxC work even though their provider is Trustpower??Thanks heaps for any helpBlake
