Some time ago I got a Genius Black router as a replacement for my white (iinet) router. I immediately noticed that wireless network connection speeds dropped to 72 Mb/sec whereas with the previous router 300Mb was more the norm - an annoying degradation. Both router and devices are in their same respective locations and there have been no changes to my home.BB is ADLS2+ and there are less than 10 devices on the network all through wifi. Several devices have ac standard compatibility. I have local storage connected to the router for backup purposes. It would be nice to get faster wifi so that multiple-gig files back up locally faster. I am a networking novice.I am wondering whether it is possible or desirable to run a wifi network using a wifi device connected through one of the (Gigabit) LAN ports on the router (ie with the router wifi disabled). If so some pointers to suitable hardware would be appreciated.Thanks in anticipation.
