mikrotek is a nightmare

Hey all,

looking at those of you who are more of an expert using mikroteks (TB951G-2HnD in this case)

What I'm looking to do with this configuration is pretty basic. (I have stripped it back to the mare basics in this case)

Create VLAN20, bridge this to a wlan2 interface

Untag traffic going out Eth2

Run a static ip on Eth2/bridge1 for remote access

At this stage, VLAN20 over bridge1 passes nicely to untagged traffic on Eth2 (bridging no IP Routing)

If i assign an ip to Eth1,3,4,5 routing to the network is possible (ping off the routerboard/to the routerboard).

If i assign an ip to Eth2, It assigns in the routing table as bridge1; Much like it does with bridge/eth1,3,4,5 However, there is no traffic passing.

I'm more than likely over-complicating this, but at a later date eth2 wouldn't be untagging but rather being trunked vlan20 already from my 3011 - In writing this I'm considering setting up the 3011 to pass this and see if the magic bullet is removing the whole untagging situation...

Have i missed something simple to assign an ip to the routerboard, on this second bridge?

Would be simple to just use two links, but that is not ideal in this situation (Routerboard is intended to be on the edge trunking traffic, thus it would only have a single uplink to the core)
