is VDSL speed a good indicator of what it might be when switch to fibre?

Hi guys,

I just moved into a new place, and have VDSL internet while waiting installation of fibre to be completed.

im currently on (speedtest.net, is there any better speed test method?) 20ms ping, 47mbps dowon / 7 mbps up. 2 degree says that i'm on a 80m plan, which make my connection to be approx. 60% of full speed.

I am not too sure what is causing it but it well might be my old wires. I try all DSL ports in the house still similar result.

my questions are

1. is 60% a good indicator of what im going to get out of fibre?

2. when i switch to fibre, would the old wire system under the house continue to be a factor? should i invest to fix it now?

3. i know most of you mentioned here that most comment slow internet factors are most likely on the user side, is there anything i could do now to find out exactly why and what to improve it?

thank you so much

Sam
