Have bought a TP-Link AV600 Powerline to enhance signal from modem/router downstairs to son's gaming PC upstairs.To help to control his time on line, looking at parental control routers. Have come across mesh routers - example, Google WiFi, Netgear Orbi. If the 2nd one of these was in his room, would he get the same or better or worse signal to his PC when playing? Intuitively, one may think the Powerline, but a quick look on net indicates that the signal that the Powerlines say on box - in this case 600Mbps - in real life are nothing near it - and my brother also says signal latency from Powerline will be affected as going through old power lines in house. Even if signal a little slower, mesh router could be preferred due to parental controls and ability for me to control remotely via router app.thanks
