I'm after some ideas for configuring / re-configuring my home network. Currently things pretty much work as I would like them to, but require a bit of attention now and then to keep the WAF high. Current set-up is as follows:Workshop:DV-130 (Bridged) --> Unifi USG --> Unifi SW-8 --> Odroid XU-4, QNAP-TS251 NAS, RPi3 (weewx weather station), Camera NVR, 2 x Cameras, Sonos player, Unifi AP-AC-LR House (via 1Gb wired link to workshop)Unifi SW-8 --> 2 x RPi3(1 per TV), Sonos player, 2 x Cameras, Main PC (normally off), Unifi AP-AC-LR, AS-304T NAS. Cameras and NVR are Unifi and just work ok, no issue there. Odroid is running DietPi with Plex, Sickrage and Transmission - the 2 RPI3's in the house also run a Plex client so content is available. The Asus NAS in the house holds back-ups for the main pc and laptops. This is then backed up to the NAS in the workshop nightly. Not ideal as they are both on the one site, however they are in separate buildings (by around 30m) and on separate power feeds. Internet access is via ADSL - nothing can be done about that in the foreseeable future unfortunately.Currently everything is closed to the outside world - I have to be home and on the local network to view the weather station data, camera feeds etc. However next year I'll be working away from home during the week, and only home in the weekends. What I'd like to be able to do: Log in from a remote location securely (I'm thinking OpenVPN? but what to install it on - Pi / NAS / Odroid / USG?) and have access to everything as if I was sitting on the couch at home - be able to troubleshoot for the wife if she can't watch TV, use SSH to the Odriod, view files in the NAS, check the weather station. I realise I wont be able to stream or watch any content that's stored at home remotely, due to ADSL limitations, but if I need to copy a file in either direction, I'd like to be able to do that. Is there a way though that I can turn on my laptop remotely and it be just as if I'm at home?I'm happy to hear any ideas, and I'm open to scrapping things I have got, changing software etc if someone has an idea that would make things better than I already have. It's a case of not knowing what I don't know and looking to have something that works smoothly with minimal hassle.Thanks in advance.
