Hi.I recently purchased a second hand Netcomm NF4V to replace a Huawai/Vodafone/SHG1500, which I thought was a reasonable modem, however, my daughters on gaming disagreed. The modem arrived as modem, leads and PSU and nothing else. All info I have says the router address is 192.168.20.1 but my linux command showed it was on 192.168.1.1 and user/password were not admin/admin so it seemed I was up a creek in a small boat.UNTIL I looked on the underside of the modem base which gave user/password and IP address (this was a slingshot modem which had different access than default)SOLUTION - CHECK THE BACK OR UNDERNEATH YOUR MODEM TO GET UNIQUE ACCESS SETTINGS.Using the Flip network ADSL been getting around 12Mbs/down .8Mbs/up with 35ms pings; wireless coverage around the house is patchy. The Netcomm NF4V which although considered by many an average modem, has impressed with solid 15Mbs/1.5Mbs/30ms and much better wifi coverage. It will migrate to be our 100/20 fiber modem soon.Regards,Alistair.
