I'm in the market for a new modem/router.I've been perusing pricespy looking at specs but I'm getting more confused, not lessMy current one is a Huawei HG520s which came from Vodafone a few years ago. I want to relegate this to the sleepout where I can attach it to the existing LAN cable, to act as a wireless access point for visitors, and for when we are in the back yard.My new one needs to work well with my VF Red zone broadband which is ADSL2+ (G.dmt.bisplus). I'm not interested in VDSL as it won't be put in before UFB.I'm also not interested in attaching storage or a printer.It needs to have dual channel wireless N.It needs to have 4 or more LAN sockets.I'm using an HD Homerun on the network, could it be clogging up the network? Would gigabit help?I do a bit of FPS online gaming, so if there are features that help, then I'd pay a little bit more.The question is: Which unit will do what I need? I don't want to spend $400 when I can get away with $100.
