Can I use a Fritzbox 7390 as a switch/WAP?

Right now I have a Vodafone cable connection, with the Snap! UFB connection partially done but not working. I have two routers connected by cat6 via a panel with two RJ45 connectors, just a patch cable between them. I want to add in the Snap! supplied Fritzbox 7390 as a switch before UFB is working because I want to connect my home alarm in and I don't have another switch. I've been waiting months for UFB, and I'll probably be waiting more months.I'd like to use the Fritzbox 7390 as a switch/WAP without it being the primary device on the LAN, is that possible? I presume using it as a switch is as simple as plugging into the LAN ports. The problem I'm having is it thinks its the primary device on the network, I can't connect to it unless it's plugged directly into my PC, if I put it on the network it's not accessible. One thing I'm unsure of is how to configure it to disable things like DHCP/DNS, can anyone tell me what? Of course I don't want to do anything that makes it difficult once UFB starts working.Diagrams using gliffy.com. Click to enlarge.CurrentProposed
