We are in the process of building our new home. It's a fairly large Single Storey home 275m2. I've been thinking about the networking setup of our house. But I want to ask you guys what you think as I'm no expert. I've been trying to do a bit of research and reading other posts on here trying to decide what equipment to get etc...So far It's going to go like this:-*Star topology to the garage like all new houses are these days.*Was thinking about getting the Dynamix R10WM9 9RU 10" Mini Cabinet.*Dynamix 12 Port Cat6 Patch Panel for 10" cabinet*Ubiquiti 5 port EdgeRouter PoE*16 Port Gigabit Switch (Not sure which one yet)*Ubiquiti UniFi UAP-AC-Pro Access Point ceiling mounted to central part of the house*Cat6 runs to 11 spots in the house. What are you thoughts on the equipment chosen? What Gigabit Switch can you guys recommend that's not too expensive and fits into this cabinet? I was looking at the Linksys 16 Port Unmanaged LGS116-AU Switch. But I don't think it's going to fit in there as both the mini cabinet and Linksys Switch are 280mm wide. Also regarding the Cat6 Cable. I see that Cat6 Cable isn't all the same, some Cat6 are 24AWG and some are 23AWG and also some are 250MHz and some 550MHz. Does it matter which you get? Is it better to get the thicker 23AWG gauge and 550MHz?TIA
