Thought I would start a topic to get peoples suggestions/preferences for their setups. I currently use a WRP400 with a cable 20/2 Mbps and when using multi downloading I can jam this router up with throughput inside 5-10 minutes. Other times it runs at high speed for hours, but ultimately needs a reset to get the speeds to return to normal. My understanding is that it is a problem with the memory and throughput, which is why resetting it fixes the problem. I have just upgraded to the 100Mbps and want a setup in which the LAN can handle the throughput capable of my internet without failing / requiring a reset every day. I have been looking at my options and the easiest would appear to be a Cisco SRP521 one stop shop (I have vfx). However before I make a purchase like that ($250+) I want to know if there is an equally comparable setup utilising my current WRP400 for wifi and VFX. Are there any routers (WIFI free potentially) that could sit between the modem and the WRP400 that take over DHCP and deal with LAN connections which for me are essential to have high speed throughput??
